ConceptPark Profile
  Gondwana Kalahari Park
Gondwana Kalahari Park is situated 30 km northeast of Mariental, right in the middle of the Kalahari, the world’s largest continuous stretch of sand. Since the park became part of the Gondwana Desert Collection in December 2004, internal farm fences are being dismantled and watering places suitable for game are being set up. The 100 km² area is populated by animals such as Springbok, Gemsbok and Jackal as well as Bat-Eared Fox, Hare and Porcupine. Enormous nests of weaver bird colonies fill entire trees. Ostrich can be observed and also the largest flying bird of all, the Kori bustard.

Visitors spend the night at Kalahari Anib Lodge with 45 rooms, restaurant, terrace and swimming pool or at one of the three exclusive camping sites with private shower, toilet and roofed over terrace. Guests can go for hiking excursions in the park or join scenic drives.

The accommodation facilities generate the funds needed for nature protection and at the same time create jobs and offer Namibians a chance for advancement.

Shaped like a horseshoe, the Gondwana Desert Route connects Gondwana Cañon Park with the other three parks of the Gondwana Desert Collection.

Discover the delights of the desert - with the Gondwana Desert Collection from Park to Park through Namibia’s south.
